Many moons ago, my father purchased a new propane BBQ and it came not only with an assembly manual - but this tiny book of recipes and "tips." Not that my father was an amateur BBQ-er at all, but this book for some reason started opening up a world of cooking for our entire family.
Suddenly, steaks were being rotated, vegetables were being marinated and grilled, potatoes had to be seasoned and roasted, fish was being smoked or cooked on planks, ribs were being glazed and dry rubbed...And within a single summer season - the BBQ Bible was born.
Today, my Dad still has the original BBQ Bible with him everywhere he goes - but my sister and I made sure to photocopy it for our own grilling. To this day, the recipes from that book remain some of our favorites.
This Blog however came from reading my friends latest endeavor - "Jobless Dave." That and I've had a great time with Facebook, posting some of my favorite recipes with pictures and getting some great responses...Why not continue the trend?
So I invite you all to e-mail or Facebook me your favorite BBQ recipes and I'll give them a shot - while at the same time, I'll be posting some of the things I've picked up in the last 15 years of cooking alongside my family and friends.
Be good and eat well!
